What is the Gallipoli game?

Gallipoli is a 50-player WW1 first-person shooter by BlackMill Games, released on August 20, 2026. It is the fourth entry in the WW1 Game Series after Verdun, Tannenberg and Isonzo, and it moves the setting to the Ottoman Fronts — the Gallipoli peninsula, Mesopotamia and the Sinai. The one game mode is Expedition: 25 versus 25, fighting through semi-randomised objectives across a sequence of sectors.

Is it spelled Gallipoli or Galipoli?

Gallipoli, with two Ls. Galipoli and Gallipolli are common misspellings and will still find the game in most search engines. The name comes from the Gallipoli peninsula in Turkey, known in Turkish as Gelibolu.

Is this the same as the Gallipoli movie, or the town in Italy?

No to both, and the name collision is worth clearing up. Gallipoli (1981) is Peter Weir's film with Mel Gibson about the same WW1 campaign. Gallipoli in Puglia is an Italian seaside town with no connection to the battle. Gallipolis is a city in Ohio. This site covers only the 2026 video game by BlackMill Games.

Does Gallipoli have a single-player campaign?

No. Gallipoli ships with Expedition Mode only, a 25-versus-25 multiplayer mode, and no story campaign. BlackMill's launch communications list bot AI as ongoing work between content updates rather than a shipped single-player mode. If you are looking for a WW1 narrative campaign, this is not that game.

How many players are in a Gallipoli match?

Fifty — 25 attackers against 25 defenders in Expedition Mode. Squads sit inside those teams and come in five types: Infantry, Scouting, Support, Assault and Machine Gun. Which squad you are in changes what call-ins your Officer can use and how many slots certain classes get.

How many classes and weapons does Gallipoli have?

Ten classes, each with two kits, and 150 weapons counting variants. Four classes are new to the series — Ammo Bearer, Bomber, Heavy Machine Gunner and Stretcher Bearer — while Officer, Rifleman, Engineer, Light Machine Gunner, Spotter and Sniper return from Isonzo. Light Machine Gunner is the one class that is not mirrored between factions: it is British Empire only.

Do I need to unlock classes or weapons by playing?

No, and BlackMill changed this deliberately for Gallipoli. Every class, weapon and tool is unlocked the first time you launch the game. Class and weapon progression exists, but it grants perks and cosmetic options on top of what you already have rather than gating content behind hours played.

How much does Gallipoli cost?

29.99 USD, 29.99 EUR or 24.99 GBP for the base game, with a 9.99 USD price in the MENA region. It launched with a 25% discount on Steam, the Epic Games Store and PlayStation 5, and 20% on Xbox Series X|S. Cosmetic DLC packs are 6.99 USD each. See the editions page for what each bundle contains.

What platforms is Gallipoli on, and is there crossplay?

PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. There is no macOS or Linux build — the Steam page lists Windows only. There is no last-generation PS4 or Xbox One version. See the platforms page for what BlackMill has and has not confirmed about cross-platform play.

Is Gallipoli on Game Pass?

It is sold on the Xbox store as a purchase. BlackMill has not announced a Game Pass release, and this site will not list one until they do.

Where is the Gallipoli community — Reddit or Discord?

The series subreddit is r/WW1GameSeries, which covers Verdun, Tannenberg, Isonzo and now Gallipoli in one place rather than having a game-specific sub. BlackMill posts its development blogs to Steam News first, and mirrors the image-heavy ones to Reddit when Steam's formatting drops the visuals. For support issues the studio points to its own support page at ww1gameseries.com.

How is Gallipoli different from Isonzo, Verdun and Tannenberg?

It is the same studio and the same one-shot-one-kill philosophy on a new front, but the mechanics moved on. Gallipoli adds a downed state, stamina that ties into aim sway, suppression that escalates into panic, bullet travel time in place of hitscan, and staged reloads that resume where they were interrupted. The class system is also rebuilt around two kits per class with fixed weight and ammo counts.

Was Gallipoli delayed?

Yes. The release date was first announced for May 21, 2026, then pushed back in an announcement BlackMill made alongside its Cosmetic Customization blog on May 19. A re-reveal trailer on July 17 set the final date of August 20, 2026, which the game hit.

Can my PC run Gallipoli?

The floor is a GTX 1660 Super or RX 5600 XT with 16 GB of RAM and 30 GB of storage — note that 16 GB is the minimum, not the recommended figure. Recommended moves up to an RTX 2070 or RX 6600 XT. BlackMill marks an SSD as highly recommended at both tiers. Full table on the system requirements page.
